Where to Spend the Weekend? Via Normale Offers 30 New Routes and Even More Reasons to Get Active
After a successful first season in which the Via Normale app for independent nature exploration brought together more than 11,000 users, mapped 39 routes, and covered over 286 kilometres of trails, the new season introduces a significant expansion — 30 new routes across Serbia, along with new outdoor rest areas.
Via Normale is an app that brings together a wide selection of mapped routes for walking, hiking, and cycling in one place, designed for both beginners and more experienced nature enthusiasts. Each route includes clear information on distance, difficulty level, and estimated duration, along with detailed maps that can be used offline, enabling safer, easier navigation for users.
Additional information about required equipment, access to locations, nearby amenities, and recommendations for different types of trips — from short family walks to more demanding tours — adds particular value to the experience. In this way, the app is tailored to both people just beginning to explore nature and those with more experience who want to discover new routes.
Over the past year, the user community has played an important role in the development of the project. A1 Serbia launched an initiative through which users earn points by using the app and contribute to a shared goal. So far, more than 150,000 points have been collected, leading to the creation of the first Via Normale picnic zone on Fruška Gora — a space dedicated to relaxation and spending time in nature.
Strong user interest is also reflected in the routes’ high average rating of 4.88, highlighting the quality and relevance of content developed in line with users’ needs. Today, the app includes some of Serbia’s most popular destinations, such as Avala, Kosmaj, Zlatibor, Kopaonik, and Divčibare, with plans to continue expanding to new locations.
In the new season, users will have access to 30 additional routes across new destinations, alongside the planned opening of new picnic zones that will further enrich the outdoor experience. Various activities, group tours, and challenges will provide additional motivation for users to spend more time outside and explore new natural landscapes.
In this way, Via Normale goes beyond being just a planning tool and becomes part of a broader initiative that encourages a more active lifestyle and higher-quality leisure time, while also promoting a responsible relationship with nature and the environment.
