Chips Way from Čačak has completed the largest investment cycle in its history

Following global trends, with strong support for the local economy

After more than 50 years of successful business, Chips Way has completed the largest investment cycle in its history over the past three years, valued at over 20 million euros. The latest investments include the installation of a state-of-the-art production line for chips with a capacity of 1,500 kg/hour, as well as new lines for the production of flips and popcorn. The production and storage facilities at the factory have been renovated to the highest standards in the food industry, and an additional investment includes a warehouse in Novi Bečej, equipped with the latest machinery for handling, processing, and storing potatoes—to ensure the best quality chips. The entire investment was realized with significant support from the Government of the Republic of Serbia, through loans from domestic banks and Chips Way’s resources.

As a result of this investment cycle, Chips Way is set to achieve record business results in 2025, with expected revenues of 25 million euros and nearly 6,000 tons of produced goods, more than 50% of which are destined for export. Additionally, the company has completed the acquisition process for a production line dedicated to the salted pellets range, valued at 3 million euros.

During a ceremonial event in Čačak, representatives of Chips Way, together with the U.S. Ambassador to Serbia, H.E. Christopher Hill, and Milun Todorović, the Mayor of Čačak, toured the factory and presented the company’s plans for the upcoming period.

“The factory in Čačak has undergone a significant transformation since 2013, and it is now one of the most technologically advanced factories in the world, specializing in the production of salted snacks. We currently employ 200 people, operate 3 production lines, and adhere to global standards using cutting-edge technology from renowned equipment manufacturers worldwide. We expect to close 2024 with revenues exceeding 19 million euros, with 54% of total sales coming from exports to over 10 international markets. Our goal is to continue investing in our people and production, expanding our product range, which will enable a strong market position for Chips Way in its industry,” said Luka Jovanović, Director of the Chips Way factory.

Milun Todorović, the Mayor of Čačak, took the opportunity to congratulate the employees and owners of the factory on the new production hall, noting that the investments over the past 10 years have exceeded 30 million euros.

“Business sustainability is important to our consumers, partners, and, above all, the community in which we operate. That’s why we have installed over 1,000 solar panels on the factory roof, which produce up to 1 MWh of electricity. We have also acquired a machine for extracting starch from wastewater, significantly improving the quality of the factory’s discharged wastewater,” said Raško Gavrilović, Production Director at Chips Way.

Given the achieved business results, Chips Way Čačak has been deservedly awarded by the Serbian Chamber of Commerce for its contribution to the development of domestic production and a brand that has been recognized for 53 years.

In addition to continuous investments in production and innovation, Chips Way, as a domestic company, is known for its commitment to product quality and support for the local economy. The factory exclusively uses locally sourced potatoes from more than 450 hectares of fields, ensuring high product quality while also providing support to local growers and farmers by purchasing only domestic raw materials for the entire Chips Way production program.

Founded in 1971 as the first and then the only salty snacks factory in the region, Chips Way is now one of the few independent local producers in the chips and salty snacks industry, competitive with global leaders not only in Serbia but across the broader Balkan region. Continuously evolving, Chips Way brands have become synonymous with quality. In addition to the well-known chips, salty favourites are now arriving in new, modern packaging—peanut flips, crocodile-shaped flips, jumbo flips, and popcorn with an enhanced flavour—perfect for our youngest consumers!
