Animal aid campaign for abandoned dogs and cats across Serbia

From December 15 to January 11, donate pet food at any Pet Centar store, and Mars and Pet Centar will double every donation.

The holiday season reminds us of the importance of community, care, and solidarity. That’s why we join forces when it’s needed most. Pet Centar and Mars, with their Whiskas and Pedigree brands, together with their distribution partner NELT, invite all citizens to participate in the holiday campaign to support abandoned dogs and cats, running from December 15, 2025, to January 11, 2026, at Pet Centar stores across Serbia.

During the campaign, customers can donate pet food by placing purchased products in specially marked baskets in stores. At the end of the campaign, the total amount of donations will be doubled with additional Whiskas and Pedigree products for cats and dogs, ensuring that help reaches as many animals as possible in shelters across Serbia during the winter season.

This joint giving model has proven highly effective; in the previous edition, 1,000 kilograms of food were donated through the same initiative. This year, the goal is to surpass that result with the support of citizens.

The campaign is taking place in Pet Centar stores in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Subotica, Vršac, Sombor, Pančevo, Čačak, Kragujevac, Kruševac, Niš, and Šabac, with donations collected in cooperation with local shelters and animal protection associations. Associations can, by arrangement, collect donations directly from stores in their city, ensuring that support quickly and transparently reaches those who need it most.

This holiday initiative reminds us that even small individual gestures, when combined, can make a big difference. Donating a single package of food becomes part of a much larger story—a story of care, empathy, and shared responsibility for animals still waiting for a safe home.

Through initiatives like this, Mars and Pet Centar continue to support pet welfare and promote a culture of responsibility and solidarity in the community, especially during the time of year when support for abandoned animals is most needed.
