A1 Serbia is acquiring Conexio Metro
A1 continues to develop its optical infrastructure, with the first customers expected in 2025
A1 Serbia is pleased to announce the acquisition of a 100% stake in Conexio Metro*. The completion of the transaction is subject, among other things, to the approval of the relevant authorities. This acquisition brings the company one step closer to achieving its goal of having its first customers on its optical network by 2025.
By acquiring Conexio Metro’s key infrastructure and assets, A1 Serbia continues to expand its optical network in Belgrade. Upon the completion of the transaction, A1 Serbia will gain ownership of 300 kilometres of optical cables, providing access to over 42,000 households, mainly in New Belgrade.
“This acquisition aligns perfectly with A1 Serbia’s strategy to accelerate the development of high-speed broadband services. The resources we are acquiring from Conexio Metro will allow us to significantly expand our network by utilizing existing infrastructure,” said Judit Albers, CEO of A1 Serbia, adding:
“As we evolve into a convergent operator offering a full range of telecommunications services in one place, our customers will be able to meet all their communication needs – whether it’s mobile, internet, or TV services – with A1 Serbia as their sole provider. Moreover, our fixed network will provide a stable foundation for the introduction of new technologies, ensuring that our customers always stay ahead with innovations.”
