A1 Kinoteka summer cinema returns to the terrace of the Serbian Army House
A Summer of Films Under the Stars – Every Evening at 9 PM, Starting July 21 in the Heart of Belgrade
Good traditions are here to stay — this summer, the rooftop terrace of the Serbian Army House once again becomes a favourite gathering place for all film lovers. Since its inception, the A1 Kinoteka Summer Cinema has attracted over 30,000 visitors, and the tradition continues this year. The open-air cinema season kicks off on Monday, July 21, with screenings held every evening at 9 PM until the end of August (August 31, 2025).
For six weeks, audiences will be able to enjoy 42 open-air film screenings featuring a diverse program that offers something for everyone.
We’re opening the season in grand style — with a screening of the iconic Serbian film Love and Fashion, celebrating 65 years since its release. One of the most beloved titles in domestic cinema returns to the big screen under the stars in a digitally restored version, with brand new image and sound quality.

This year’s A1 Kinoteka Summer Cinema program brings a blend of tradition and contemporary cinematic expression. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, digitally restored domestic films from the A1 Kinoteka project will be screened (free admission for these screenings). Thursdays are reserved for legendary international film classics, while Tuesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays will feature the latest titles from contemporary global cinema.
The summer cinema is once again organised by A1 Serbia, the Yugoslav Film Archive (Kinoteka), and the Serbian Army House. The program has been thoughtfully curated to appeal to all generations and film tastes.
“An open-air summer cinema has a special magic, and we’re thrilled that over 30,000 people have attended over the past seasons. We are proud that A1 Serbia is once again offering audiences a unique film experience — with top-quality image and sound, restored local classics, and the latest international films. As a company that believes in the power of connection and invests in community-enriching projects, we are delighted to continue this beautiful tradition and invite everyone to join us under the stars at one of the city’s most beautiful venues,” said Judit Albers, General Manager of A1 Serbia.
“The summer cinema on the rooftop of the Serbian Army House is not just a film program — it’s a special experience that combines art, a love for film, and a beautiful atmosphere. We are proud to be nurturing this tradition for the fourth consecutive year and to see that our audience continues to enjoy open-air screenings. The Yugoslav Film Archive remains dedicated to making film art accessible, adapting the program for all generations, and bringing fresh energy to our lineup. In addition to restored local classics, the program will feature films by legendary directors such as Fellini, John Huston, Blake Edwards, Billy Wilder, Hitchcock, Fred Zinnemann, as well as recent works by Wes Anderson, Walter Hill, Steven Soderbergh, Sean Baker, and many other acclaimed contemporary filmmakers,” said Ksenija Zelenović, Deputy Director of the Yugoslav Film Archive and curator of the A1 Kinoteka Summer Cinema program.

Admission to the restored films from the A1 Kinoteka project is free, with tickets available for pickup one hour before the screening. Tickets for other screenings are priced at 300 RSD and can be purchased at the box office of the Yugoslav Film Archive or at the entrance to the Serbian Army House on the day of the screening, from 8 PM to 9 PM. Advance tickets will also be available at the Kinoteka box office at Uzun Mirkova 1 daily (except Mondays) from 10 AM to 3 PM, and from 5 PM to 9 PM, up to seven days in advance according to the programming schedule.
The full program is available on the Yugoslav Film Archive’s website. Ticket sales at the Kinoteka box office begin on Monday, July 21, 2025.
In the event of rain, screenings will be relocated indoors to the “Makavejev” Hall of the Yugoslav Film Archive, located at Uzun Mirkova 1, starting at 9:15 PM.
