A1 Serbia has enabled prepaid registration through the eGovernment portal

A1 Serbia has launched an easy and efficient method for prepaid users to register their numbers online through the Electronic Identification Portal (eID). In line with the new Law on Electronic Communications, which requires all prepaid users to register by February 10, 2025, this secure and effective solution eliminates the need for physical presence, making the registration process more accessible and convenient.

Prepaid users can now register directly through the A1 Serbia website using their account on the eID.gov.rs portal (Office for IT and eGovernment). The Law on Electronic Communications mandates that all new prepaid users register their numbers before activating services. Existing users must register their prepaid numbers by February 10, 2025, to avoid service suspension. The eGovernment portal offers a reliable and user-friendly method for citizens to fulfil this requirement, underscoring its established reputation for safe and straightforward digital services.

“At A1 Serbia, we value our customers’ time, knowing how precious it is in today’s fast-paced world. Our partnership with the Office for IT and eGovernment makes prepaid registration faster and easier than ever,” said Branka Pudrlja Durbaba, Chief Sales and Customer Satisfaction Officer at A1 Serbia. “In just a few clicks, users can meet their registration requirements and continue enjoying our services uninterrupted.”

“I am proud to highlight that the Office for IT and eGovernment continues to enhance the capabilities of its most advanced systems, such as the electronic identification scheme. This effort extends beyond public administration to the private sector, advancing Serbia’s digital transformation and making it even easier for citizens to access various online services. A1 Serbia is the first telecommunications operator to enable simple online prepaid number registration for all citizens with an account on the eGovernment portal, significantly saving time and enabling faster access to mobile services. Nearly 2.4 million citizens are registered on the eGovernment portal, utilizing several hundred electronic services. Prepaid user registration is a key step in further improving the security and reliability of mobile telephony services in Serbia,” stated Jovanović.

He added that thanks to the data exchange system established by the Office for IT and eGovernment, 255 million hours of waiting have been saved, fully justifying the eGovernment’s motto: “Available 24/7, 365 days a year, wherever you are, in service of its citizens.”
